“Folios of Lights” is born from my passion for contemporary classical music and the rich heritage of Japanese composers. This album brings together the works of three distinct voices in modern Japanese composition: Ryuichi Sakamoto (坂本龍一), Takashi Yoshimatsu (吉松隆), and Dai Fujikura (藤倉大).

FRAGILE GLIM

“Fragile Glim,” is a sound-based composition divided into three parts: one single introductory movement followed by two improvisatory expansions. Drawing on the concept of wabi-sabi, the work sources its materials from a degenerative Yamaha upright piano tampered by nature to examine impermanence and imperfection as tangible forms of musical expression.
